Wave Estate is designed around the main
boulevard providing access from the North to the South. At the heart of
the development, there is a pedestrians Central Piazza called Caf�
Street lined with alfresco caf�s, bars and restaurants where the residents
and visitors alike can enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal, sitting in the
landscaped central vista. The design and feel of the Piazza is
Mediterranean, with a welcoming ambience amidst a green landscape, that
has select plants and trees from the region.
As an extension of the Central Piazza, the villas capture the same spirit
of design. The internal roads are lined by open courtyards, lending wide
vistas and roads to this elegant township. Besides the villas, the
superbly designed apartment condominiums are also located around the
central park. The retail, commercial, hotel & residential areas embody the
common thread of design, which endeavors to give each space great views,
good ventilation & ample natural light.
Development Pattern
To its North, Mohali seamlessly abuts the city of Chandigarh, laid out by
Le Corbusier, and naturally endowed with a salubrious climate. The brief
given to the internationally acclaimed master architects for Wave Estate ,
was to use to good advantage, the climate, fertile soil and the abundant
sunlight through the year, in creating a truly self contained, secure and
private xanadu.
The architects were asked to study the development of Chandigarh carefully
and to come up with an elegant & inspirational architectural designs for
Wave Estate . The cubism, grid patterns and use of exposed concrete prevalent
in Chandigarh's architecture are contrasted by Mediterranean style of
architecture in Wave Estate , against a backdrop of rolling green landscapes;
providing an incomparable quality of life, while cocooning its residents
in beautifully landscaped vistas.
The development provides for capturing of rainwater which will be used to
recharge the underground aquifers. Most of the water used by the residents
will be recycled for gardening and other purposes. It is our endeavour to
provide an environmentally sustainable development. Due studies have been
carried out about directions of trade winds and trajectory of the winter
sun, to plan for natural ventilation and sunlight for each home, and to
ensure that no shadows are cast by one building on another during the
winter months, as far as possible. The expansive verandas and central
courtyards are planned such that all the rooms receive natural sunlight
and are well ventilated.
The site will be developed in 4 phases, keeping in mind the following:
- Appropriate land use & zoning plan
- Impact of vehicular noise emanating from surrounding roads
- Safety and environment protection specially for water resources and
water recycling
- Structural design bearing in mind Seismic Zone considerations as per
code IS: 1893
